INTRODUCTION FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE (EM) GROUP

The demand of the electronics industry in high-level technical personnel are imperatively needed. The EM group of National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) has been developed to be a technical research team affiliated with the Department of Electronic Engineering and the Graduate Institute of Computer and Communication Engineering. Now NTUT has five thousand alumni who receive industry recognition due to the pragmatic working attitude and spirit of dedication. Our EM group serves a department in charge of the project of planning and execution devoting them to develop advanced electromagnetic technology.

In our EM group, different research topics such as miniaturized antenna design, RFID antenna, rectenna, multi-band antenna, meta-material, dielectric resonator and signal integrity and power integrity for high speed circuits. In addition, our research interests include design and analysis of passive components such as CMOS RF ICs, board-level integration and design, radar system engineering, wireless RF sensing technology, novel transceiver architectures and frequency synthesizer designs. All the topics target at integrated circuit design of RF/microwave active components including amplifiers, oscillators, up/down mixers, modulators, demodulators and the whole RF transceiver system with high performance. Besides, we also involve digital signal processing techniques to benefit radio system with the features of simplicity, performance improving and reconfiguration capability of the radio systems.

Our EM group possesses an overall research about application of the electromagnetic wave and has published a variety of papers in international journals and conference, by those expertly experience and skill can fully achieve the purpose of strengthening the students' basic capabilities. In each year, students graduated from our group and have a superior ability to work in industry. In the future, we will actively interact and cooperate with industry and aggressively promote research results matching practical application.
